Gun recoil and bullet (kinetic energy)?

-bullet weighs 50 grams
-gun weighs 1kg

if I fire a bullet from a gun at 80 m/s it's momentum 4kg m/s
the guns recoil would be 4 m/s with 4 kg m/s

-same momentum different lethality why?

kinetic energy of the bullet would be 160 j
and the gun 16 j

-which kills momentum or kinetic energy?
