Ship Question Boiler room?

Anyone ever see the movie titanic? Well when the iceberg struck the men in the lower part of the ship what is that called? Where the pistons and all the metal stuff is at! The boilers and men shoveling. Is that still today? Since we also update our technology everyday. The reason why I ask this is because I was like wait I know men aren't shoveling coal into the fire all night long while wealthy snobs sleep upstairs in warm comfy beds!
