How to use PSD layered vector file in Illustrator?

Hello, I downloaded a PSD layered vector file of 9 Polaroid frames, and, as I'm more experienced in Illustrator, I want to import, or place the individual frames in Illustrator and be able to edit them and use them as a vector template. Is this possible? I really haven't used Photoshop much, I know how to use a layered template in it, but how do I 'get rid' of the rest of the images, or separate them into single layered separate files, as it opens all 9 frames as one file? Thanks!
